I have also just written my first crochet pattern for an amigurumi Poke Ball from the anime Pokemon (the term anime is used very loosely here ;p)
Here it is for you all for FREE :D :D :D

Round 7 & 8: Repeat round 6 twice more, without joining (spirally).

Round 9: Join the Black yarn and make 3dc, make all other sts (33) in White.

Round 10: Make 2dc in Black, 1dc in White, 2dc in Black, 17dc in White.

Round 11: Make 17dc in Black, 3dc in White, 17dc in black and join to next st with a sl st. Break yarn.

Make another half exactly the same, but in red instead of white (except for the button).

Sew the two halves together, leaving a 2 inch gap.

Stuff the ball tightly with polyfil and backstitch a circle in black yarn in the centre of the “button”. Sew the gap closed.

Chart for button:

Pokemon and Pokeball both belong to Nintendo and probably other game people - at any rate, I don't own it.

This pattern is for private use only however and belongs to me. So you can make one for you and one for your mates, but you can't sell the poke balls you make from the pattern, or the pattern itself :D
